Hire WordPress developers who build it and stay to run it.

Add a senior WordPress engineer to your team for theme and plugin work, performance, security and content modelling. They work in your repo, your staging site and your release process, and can stay on to run it.

What they do

Hire WordPress developers who build it and stay to run it, end to end.

Theme and template development

Custom themes and block templates built from your design, rather than a bought theme bent into shape. Clean markup, a sensible template hierarchy, and no page builder holding your content hostage.

Plugin work and custom features

Custom plugins for the behaviour your business actually needs, and untangling the plugin stack you inherited. Fewer moving parts means fewer updates that can take the site down without warning.

Performance and Core Web Vitals

A slow WordPress site is usually the theme, the plugins or the host. We measure first, then fix what the numbers point at: database queries, caching, image handling and third-party scripts.

Security, updates and hardening

Out-of-date plugins are the most common way WordPress sites get taken over. Patching on a schedule, tested backups, restricted user roles, and a staging site so nothing is ever updated straight on production.

Content modelling and the editor

Custom post types, fields and taxonomies so your content has a shape instead of being a pile of pages. Editors get a screen they can use without breaking the layout or the SEO, and without asking a developer.

Migrations, headless and replatforms

Moving onto WordPress, off it, or running it headless behind a separate front end. Content mapping, a redirect for every old URL, and a plan for the rankings and traffic you already have.

How it runs

Plan. Build. Run.

01

A 30 minute call

Thirty minutes to hear what the site does, what runs it now and what keeps breaking. You get an honest read on whether the work in front of you is a fix, a rebuild, or a move to a different platform.

02

Fixed scope, timeline and price

We write down the work, what it costs and when it lands, before anyone starts. If we think WordPress is the wrong answer to what you have described, we say so at this point rather than after the invoice.

03

Build inside your process

The engineer works in your repository, your staging environment and your release windows. Themes and plugins under version control, changes reviewed the way your team reviews them, nothing edited live.

04

Launch, then run it

The site goes live with documentation and every credential in your hands. From there you either take it back in-house or we keep it running: updates, monitoring, fixes and a monthly report.

Why infoloop

We do not hand over and leave.

  • We run it after launchThe usual pattern is a site handed over and an agency that goes quiet. Ours is a managed retainer: monitoring, security updates, fixes against response targets, improvements and a monthly report.
  • You own the accounts and the codeHosting, domain, licences and repository stay in your name from day one. Nothing is built on a plugin only we can renew, and no part of the site needs us in order to be edited or moved.
  • We will say if WordPress is wrongWe build on Webflow and Shopify as well, and we publish an honest comparison of Webflow and WordPress. So we have no reason to talk you into a platform that does not suit how your team works.
  • Maintenance is planned, not improvisedUpdates land on a schedule, on staging, with a backup taken first. What it costs to keep a WordPress site patched is agreed up front rather than arriving as a surprise bill after something breaks.
  • A named engineer, not a rotating benchYou get one experienced person who learns your site and stays with it. They join your tracker and your standups if you want them there, and you meet them before anything is agreed.

What you get

Every engagement includes these, in writing, before work starts.

  • A custom theme or child theme in version control, with no page builder lock-in
  • Custom post types, fields and taxonomies matched to how your content actually works
  • A staging environment, so every change is tested before it reaches a visitor
  • A before-and-after performance report covering Core Web Vitals and page weight
  • Scheduled core and plugin updates, tested backups and a documented rollback
  • Written handover: accounts, architecture notes and how to edit every part of the site

Who this is for

Three situations where this is the right call.

The site was built by someone who has gone

You inherited a WordPress install and nobody left notes. No one is sure which plugins matter, updates get put off in case they break something, and the whole thing runs on hope. We take it over, document it and make it safe to change again.

Marketing is queued behind a developer

Every landing page, campaign and content change needs an engineer, because the theme was never built to be edited. We rebuild the parts your team touches most, so they can publish on their own without breaking the layout or the SEO.

You are deciding whether to stay on WordPress

Something is not working and you cannot tell whether the platform is the problem or the build is. We look at both, fix WordPress if that is the right answer, and plan the migration with redirects if it is not.

Questions

What buyers ask us first.

How much does it cost to hire a WordPress developer from infoloop?
We do not price by the hour. After a 30 minute call we write down the scope, the timeline and a fixed price for the build, so you have the number before anyone starts. Ongoing work is a separate monthly retainer, sized to what we are keeping live: updates, monitoring, fixes and small improvements. Separating the two means you never pay for maintenance you did not agree to, and never receive a surprise invoice for a build that ran long. If the scope changes part-way through, we re-price that piece in writing first.
What happens after the site launches?
You choose. Some clients take the site back in-house with the documentation, accounts and handover notes we produce. Most move onto our managed retainer, which is the run half of what we do: core and plugin updates on a schedule, uptime and error monitoring, fixes against agreed response targets, security patching, improvements each month and a written report of what changed. WordPress punishes being left alone, because out-of-date plugins are the most common route into a site. Either way, nothing about the build requires us to stay involved.
Can you work on our existing WordPress site, or do you only build new ones?
Both. Taking over an existing install is normal work. We start with an audit of the theme, the plugin stack, the hosting, the database and the security position, then give you a list of what is urgent, what is worth doing and what can be left alone. From there we fix in place, or rebuild only the parts that are holding you back. We do not insist on starting again. If the site is well built and simply needs looking after, we will tell you, and the engagement becomes a retainer rather than a project.
Would you recommend Webflow instead of WordPress?
Sometimes, and we will say so before you spend anything. We build on both, and we publish a comparison of the two on this site. The short version: Webflow suits a marketing site that needs to be fast, secure and editable with almost no upkeep, while WordPress earns its place when you need deep plugin functionality, a complex content model, or full control of the hosting stack. The real cost of WordPress is not the licence, it is the maintenance somebody has to own. If your requirements point at Webflow, we will build it there instead.
Who owns the code, the hosting and the plugin licences?
You do, from the start. The hosting account, the domain, any commercial plugin licences and the repository are in your name, and we work inside them rather than parking your site somewhere only we can reach. The theme and any custom plugins are handed over as readable, documented code, with no dependency that renews only through us. If you end the engagement, you keep a site your own team or another agency can pick up the next day. A client who stays because leaving is difficult is not really a client.
How quickly can someone start, and how do we work together day to day?
Scoping happens on a 30 minute call, and work begins once the scope, timeline and price are agreed in writing. Day to day the engineer works in your tools: your repository, your project tracker, your Slack or Teams channel and your release windows. Changes are built on staging and reviewed before they go live, never edited directly on the production site. You get a named person rather than whoever happens to be free that week, and you meet them before anything is signed. If you would rather we ran the whole thing and sent you a monthly report, that works too.

Tell us what your WordPress site needs. We'll scope it in 30 minutes.

Bring the site, the plugin list and the thing that keeps going wrong. You will leave with a fixed scope, a timeline and a price, and an honest view on whether WordPress is still the right home for it.
