Hire Shopify developers who stay after the store goes live

For brands that need a Shopify engineer inside the team, not a project handed over and forgotten. Theme work, apps, integrations and migrations, then a running agreement that keeps the store healthy.

What they do

Hire Shopify developers who stay after the store goes live, end to end.

Theme development and customisation

Building and extending Shopify themes in Liquid, or working in Hydrogen where a headless front end is the right call. Templates, sections, metafield-driven content and merchandising controls your team can edit without a developer.

Custom app and extension work

Private apps and Shopify app extensions for the things no listed app does properly: bespoke pricing rules, B2B ordering, subscription logic, custom checkout extensions on Plus. Built to Shopify's app standards so they survive platform updates.

Store migrations and replatforming

Moving from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or an older Shopify build. Products, variants, customers, orders and URLs mapped and redirected, so search rankings and customer accounts survive the move.

Integrations with your back office

Connecting Shopify to the systems that actually run the business: ERP, warehouse and 3PL, accounting, CRM, email and analytics. Built with retries and monitoring so a failed sync is noticed before a customer is.

Performance and conversion work

Auditing what is slowing a store down, usually app bloat, unoptimised media and render-blocking scripts. We cut what is not earning its keep, tune the theme, and measure the change rather than assert it.

Ongoing store engineering

A named engineer for the queue of small work every store generates: campaign landing pages, new collections, seasonal changes, app updates, bug fixes. Booked days each month rather than a new quote every time.

How it runs

Plan. Build. Run.

01

30 minute call

You describe the store, the stack around it and what is in the way. We ask about traffic, catalogue size, apps in use and who edits the site today. No deck, no discovery invoice. You leave knowing whether this is work we should take on.

02

Fixed scope, timeline and price

We write down what gets built, in what order, by when, and what it costs. If something is genuinely unknowable up front we say so and price the investigation separately, rather than hiding it in a padded estimate.

03

Build in the open

The engineer works in your Slack and your board, on a theme branch or dev store you can see. Weekly demos on the real store, not screenshots. You review as it goes, so nothing lands as a surprise at the end.

04

Launch, then run

We deploy, watch the first orders through, and stay. The running agreement covers monitoring, fixes to response targets, app and platform updates, small improvements, and a monthly report on what changed.

Why infoloop

We do not hand over and leave.

  • We run what we buildOur retainer covers monitoring, fixes with response targets, security and app updates, improvements and a monthly report. The team that wrote the code is the team that answers when the checkout misbehaves.
  • An engineer, not a ticket queueYou get a named developer in your channels who learns your catalogue, your promotions and your quirks. No account manager relaying questions, no rotating bench of people re-reading the brief each sprint.
  • We tell you when Shopify is wrongSome projects belong on Webflow, some on Shopify, some on both. We have built on each. We will say which fits your case on the first call, even when that means a smaller piece of work for us.
  • A store you can edit yourselvesSections, metafields and CMS structures set up so marketing can ship a campaign page without booking developer time. Handover includes documentation and a walkthrough, not just repository access.
  • Priced up front, not by surpriseFixed scope, timeline and price before anything starts. Change requests get their own number before they get built. You are never reading an invoice trying to work out what happened.

What you get

Every engagement includes these, in writing, before work starts.

  • A named Shopify engineer working in your Slack, your board and your sprint rhythm
  • Theme, app and integration code in your repository, documented and reviewable
  • A staging or development store for every change before it reaches customers
  • A deployment routine with a tested rollback path, not edits made in the live theme
  • Analytics and event tracking wired up so you can see what the change did to revenue
  • A running agreement after launch: monitoring, fixes to response targets, updates, monthly report

Who this is for

Three situations where this is the right call.

A DTC brand outgrowing its original theme

The store was set up quickly, then grew. Apps have piled up, the theme has been patched by three different freelancers, and every change now risks breaking something else. You need someone who can untangle it and then keep it clean.

An in-house team without Shopify depth

You have designers and perhaps a front-end developer, but nobody who knows Liquid, checkout extensions or the app ecosystem well. You want that skill added to the team for a defined period, working the way your team already works.

A store that must talk to the back office

Orders are rekeyed into an ERP by hand, stock counts drift, and finance reconciles in a spreadsheet. The work is less about the storefront than about the integrations behind it, built so failures surface rather than silently accumulate.

Questions

What buyers ask us first.

What does it cost to hire a Shopify developer through infoloop?
We do not publish day rates, because the honest answer depends on how much of an engineer you need and for how long. The shape is consistent: a 30 minute call, then a fixed scope, timeline and price before anything is built. Most engagements run one of two ways. Either a defined build with a fixed price and delivery date, or booked days each month for a named engineer working alongside your team. After launch the running agreement is a separate monthly fee covering monitoring, fixes, updates and a report. You will know all three numbers before you commit to any of them.
Should we build on Shopify or Webflow?
Shopify if you are selling physical or digital products at any real volume: it handles checkout, tax, payments, inventory, discounts and fulfilment, and those are enormous things to not have to build. Webflow if the site is primarily marketing, content or lead generation, where you want designers editing pages freely and the CMS driving the structure. Plenty of businesses run both, with a Webflow marketing site and a Shopify store on a subdomain, sharing a design system. We build on both, so we have no reason to push you toward one. We will tell you which fits on the first call.
What happens after the store launches?
Launch is where our running agreement starts, not where we leave. It covers uptime and error monitoring so problems surface before customers report them, fixes with agreed response targets, Shopify platform and app updates applied and tested, security patches, a queue of small improvements each month, and a monthly report on what changed and what it did. The same engineer who built the store handles it, so there is no re-learning your setup. If you would rather take it in-house, we hand over documentation and walk your team through it properly.
Can you work with our existing team and codebase?
Yes, that is the usual arrangement on this page. Our engineer joins your Slack, your board and your sprint rhythm, works in your repository, and follows your review process. We read the existing theme before changing it, including the parts previous developers left behind. If the codebase is in poor shape we will say so and give you the honest choice between careful repair and a rebuild, with the cost and risk of each. We do not insist on a rewrite to make the work easier for us.
Can you migrate our store from another platform without losing SEO?
Yes. The parts that matter are the URL map and the data. We build a full inventory of existing URLs, map each to its destination and put permanent redirects in place before the switch, so ranking pages and inbound links keep working. Products, variants, collections, customers and order history are migrated and reconciled, not eyeballed. Metadata and structured data are carried across. We run the new store in parallel on a development URL for testing, cut over at a quiet trading hour, and watch search console and error rates closely for the following weeks.
Do you work on Shopify Plus, and on headless builds?
Yes to both. On Plus we work with checkout extensions, scripts and functions, B2B, expanded API limits and multi-store setups. Headless with Hydrogen or another front end is something we build when there is a reason for it: an unusual front-end experience, a shared content layer across several properties, or performance requirements a theme cannot meet. It is not the default. Headless adds real engineering and maintenance cost, and for most stores a well-built theme is faster to ship and cheaper to run. We will say which case you are in.

Tell us about your Shopify store

A 30 minute call, then a fixed scope, timeline and price. We will tell you what we would build, what we would leave alone, and whether Shopify is even the right place for it. No deck and no obligation.
