We document your current workflows and agree what the first release includes and excludes. You then receive the scope, cost and delivery date as one written proposal. The cost is a fixed price when the scope is clear, or an hourly rate with an estimate.
03Staged releases you can test
Your team gets a login to a test environment and reviews each module as it is completed. Issues surface in week three, when changes are still inexpensive.
04Rollout and ongoing support
We migrate your data, train your staff and manage the production rollout. An optional monthly support plan covers monitoring, fixes within an agreed service level and a monthly report.

What does custom software development cost?

Work whose scope will change is billed hourly. Either way, the rate and an estimate are agreed in writing after a half-hour call. Post-launch support is quoted separately, at the same time.
How long does it take to build custom software?
Most projects go live in 4 to 8 weeks, and larger systems go live in agreed phases. The timeline depends on the scope and the number of systems to integrate. You receive the delivery date in writing before work starts. Brightlane's nine garage branches went live on one platform in eleven weeks.
Do you support the software after launch?
Yes, through an optional monthly plan. It covers monitoring, fixes within an agreed response time, security updates and a monthly report. Your internal team can also take over operations. Either way, you receive the source code, documentation and training.
Do we own the code when the project ends?
Yes. The source code lives in repositories and cloud accounts in your name. We use mainstream, well-documented frameworks and write handover documentation another team can follow. If you change vendors, the code, data and documentation go with you.

Off-the-shelf, if a product on the market fits; we say so on the first call. Custom software pays off when your process is a competitive advantage, or when staff keep a spreadsheet beside the product you license. It also pays off when per-user fees rise with every hire.
Will custom software work with the tools we already use?
Nearly always. Most projects integrate with an accounting package, a CRM or a payment provider. If the other system offers an API (a published connection point), we integrate directly; if not, we exchange files on a schedule. You learn which systems integrate easily before you commit.
